Literacy Night 2023
Our Literacy Night Hawaiian Luau was a huge success, with record breaking numbers in attendance! More than 500 students and families came out to enjoy this fun filled night of celebrating literacy.
Our extremely creative students dove into luau themed crafts and created tropical suncatchers, fish mobiles, tiki masks, and beach magnets. We definitely have some budding artists here at Binks Forest. The highlight of the evening was when our amazing teachers made different genres come to life for our students.
Students were wide eyed and captivated listening to stories being read aloud, acted out, and even shared in two languages. Each of our wonderful students went home with a brand new book, so they can continue to be super readers!
Literacy at home was also a focus of the evening with many families stopping by the Palm Beach County public library table to sign their child up for a free library card. Shopping at the Scholastic Book Fair was another family favorite, the Media Center was buzzing with excitement all night long.
Our very talented chorus then closed out the evening in luau style with a flawless performance of the Moana song, "You're Welcome". Mahalo to everyone who shared in this night, participated in our literacy auction, and continues to help us create students who will be lifelong readers!
